Portage Lakes Initiative Foundation

We are the Portage Lakes community’s newest 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; the Portage Lakes Initiative Foundation. This organization was founded to continue sponsoring special events in our community such as; December Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Clocktower, Nighttime
Christmas in July / Light Up the Lakes Boat Parade final stop with judging and awards ceremony at the docks co-sponsored with Brooks Ames; Antique and Classic Boat Show Breakfast, judging and awards ceremony at the docks co-sponsored with the Portage Lakes Historical Society, and the annual Laker Night Fundraiser. This year we will be adding college scholarships for students at the three high schools within the Portage Lakes Community (Manchester, Green and Coventry). We will also be sponsoring more
special events in the future.

The founders of this newly formed foundation are; Local Owner/Operator of Pick’s at the Portage Lakes, and Smoke on the Water, Mr. Donnie J. Boyer; local Portage Lakes area attorney, Mr. Theodore F. Scribner, Esq., and Past Portage Lakes Boat Parade Chairman, Mr. Mark T. Haag.
